Welcome to my "Parallelism and Concurrency" blog! My name is Justin E. Gottschlich. I run a small online gaming company, work for a big defense contracting company and am pursing a Ph.D. in computer engineering.
The purpose of this blog is to discuss new and exciting ideas in parallelism and concurrency as I complete my Ph.D. My focus will be centered around novel ideas in the field of parallel and concurrent computing, since my Ph.D. research concentration is on software transactional memory (STM). Also, because I'm a long-time C++ programmer, I'll post rants on C++ things I've recently discovered and think you may find interesting.
I am the author of the TBoost.STM library (formerly known as DracoSTM) and a Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado-Boulder working under the superb guidance of Jeremy G. Siek and Manish Vachharajani. I have been developing professional software for over 10 years in industry and run an online game, Nodeka, that I wrote entirely in C++.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you find some of my entries of interest!
